Position Statement: I support Governor Manchin.

I voted for Governor Manchin because I felt he was the best candidate. My efforts to contact his Republican opponent were not answered. I believe that if a candidate does not respond to his voters during the campaign, he probably will not when elected. That is why my campaign has several methods for people to contact me. I WANT to hear from the voters. Governor Manchin is willing to make the hard decisions that the state needs to progress. While I do not agree with all of his ideas, I respect his motivation and willingness to get the job done.
A Republican candidate speaking out in favor of a Democratic official may seem a bit odd. But I am more concerned about the well-being of our citizens then I am about being politically correct . As your Senator I will serve all the people not just the Republicans.
Governor Manchin has been willing to work with both sides to accomplish what needs to be done. If only more politicans would be that way. I applaud his efforts and look forward to working with him in the future.

Victory for Gov. Manchin, but defeat for taxpayers. The food tax should be eliminated completely. Granted a one percent reduction is a small step in the right direction. But that reduction does not even keep pace with the reduction in Virginia. Border county residents that live near Virginia gained nothing. It is disappointing that our Democratic leaders did not support tax reductions on a basic necessity. |
